چکیده

Graphene nano platelets (GNP) have several attractive properties, including excellent lubricity that can be used to develop wear-resistant coatings. Thermally sprayed chromium carbide–nickel (Cr3C2–NiCr) coatings are widely employed impart wear resistance engineering components. This work attempts improve the of high velocity air fuel (HVAF) Cr3C2–NiCr by incorporating GNP using a hybrid approach in which (powder) and (suspension) co-axially injected. Two different powder-to-suspension delivery ratios were this study utilizes liquid feedstock tandem with HVAF system. Furthermore, for comparison, pure (without graphene) reference coating was deposited process identical spray parameters. The as-sprayed characterized their microstructure phase constitution SEM/EDS X-Ray Diffraction. Mechanical properties such as hardness fracture toughness evaluated micro-indentation technique. subjected dry sliding tests performance compared Cr3C2–NiCr. incorporated exhibited lower CoF rates than coating. Post analysis revealed mechanisms predominant investigated Utilizing above case study, provides key insights into new produce mitigating wear.

Sintering of Fine Particles in Suspension Plasma Sprayed Coatings

Suspension plasma spraying is a process that enables the production of finely grained nanometric or submicrometric coatings. The suspensions are formulated with the use of fine powder particles in water or alcohol with some additives. Subsequently, the suspension is injected into plasma jet and the liquid additives evaporate. The remaining fine solids are molten and subsequently agglomerate or ...

Suspension Plasma Sprayed Titanium Oxide and Hydroxyapatite Coatings

The paper aims at development of TiO2, Ca5(PO4)3OH (hydroxyapatite, HA) and their multilayer coatings onto stainless steel, titanium and aluminum substrate using suspension plasma spraying. The total thickness of the coatings was in the range 10 to 150 μm. The suspension on the base of distilled water, ethanol and their mixtures was formulated with the use of fine commercial TiO2 pigment crysta...
